Beaches and Birthdays

We went to visit the Daddy where he is working in Dothan, Alabama this past weekend. Oh, how we have missed him. And he's missed us a little too, I think. It was a fun visit. We decided to head to the beach Sunday since we were only an hour away. Aside from spending over an hour looking for sun hats for the two little ones (that they didn't even wear!) it was a great time.

I had a great idea to get a really good picture of the kids for maybe a christmas card or something. Or at least just to have a picture of them together on the beach. This is how they all turned out. I was a little bit stressed out about it. Then I decided just to let them have fun and play.

GG literally just walked up and down the beach. Up and down and everywhere. Never looking at my camera. Too busy for any pictures, Mom. She called it her " big sandbock".
She'll look at the camera though.
She's growing up too fast.
I don't like  it.

Oh, and it was also my birthday on Saturday.
36th birthday.
Yikes.

Our trip to the Pumpkin Patch

I guess we have started a family tradition. We found this pumpkin patch last year and had so much fun. So we decided to go back this year. As a family of five. Little Shep was in the belly last year. The weather was beautiful and all the kids were such troopers. Nobody whined much and we had a really great time. We took a covered wagon ride out to the field to pick out our pumpkins. We stayed for a little while and the girls ran and played and jumped on bales of hay.

We all wore our Alabama gear. There was a big game that day. Roll Tide!

I love having these traditions that we all can look forward to. And that the kids will look back on and have good memories.

Around Town

These are a few pics of the girls at the Mcwane Science Center
We went last week when Sophie was out of school
It's always a good time and something fun to do when the weather isn't great.

This is the green screen the weather forecaster stands in front of.  She's predicting it's going to be HOT in Alabama! As usual.

Lily

My sweet, sweet friend Keri and her husband Joe just had their first baby girl born October 17th. Please head over to Lily's Life and congratulate her. Words cannot express how happy I am for them. They both have waited a long time for this perfect gift from God. She is such a blessing!

Let's see....

That's GG's little saying right now. As she stands in the fridge looking at all the choices trying to decide what she wants to eat. Let's see... as she looks inside her dresser drawer wanting to pick out her own clothes.
So that is what I said looking at all my pictures from the last couple of weeks, trying to decide how to compile them.

We'll start with this. Remember this?
She's at it again. This time she prepared though. She actually brought out her pillow and blanket from her bedroom.
We've started decorating for fall. This is my favorite season. I'm so ready for some cooler weather. Ready to see all the leaves changing. Ready to open the windows and not run the a/c all the time. And ready for the mosquitos to get outta here!
My happy boy.
Grampy  came for a quick visit.
One of our "punkins".
We decided to make ghosts to hang from the tree outside. Sophie made them  and we all went outside to hang 'em up. GG was Sophie's helper.
Shep was flying.
One of our " creecrows". (you know that means scarecrow, right?)
Sophie getting the ghosts exactly the way she wants them.
This is her favorite.
Yesterday, my brother Jason and his wife Jennifer came for a quick visit. They were on their way to Atlanta (to go to an NFL game. I'm not the least bit jealous. Not me.)  and stopped by. We haven't seen them since their wedding in June. It was so nice. Just wish it could have been longer.
We were watching GG and Sophie jump rope.
Goofy family.
