Mish Mash...

of pictures ahead. We've had a lot going on the past couple of weeks. So this is about all I can come up with.

These 2 pictures are the reason there are no good pictures of Sophie lately. She's on a picture strike I guess

Shep fell asleep during tummy time
I walked in Shep's room the other day and found this. G.G. had dumped all his little toys out and was sitting in the toy box.

Umm... I don't really know what to do about this. He soothes himself like this now. Do I replace the thumb with a paci? Do I even worry about it? It's really sweet right now.

This was her first experience with licking the beater. Yummy.. homemade chocolate chip cookies.
A couple of weeks ago we went to visit family in Kentucky. We had a wonderful time with everyone. These are just a few snapshots below.
I just thought this picture of GG was really pretty.
Nana on an adventure walk with 3 of her great-grandchildren ( Maddox, Isaac and GG)
Maddox and GG
This is Rosie the kitty cat. Every morning Papa Bill and GG would go outside and feed her.
A serious addiction to popsicles began this week.
The gang. Maddox, GG, Isaac and Conner
GG learned how to blow bubbles.
AHA! There she is! Sophie and Nana.
Papa Bill and little Shep
Grama with her two youngest grandkids

While we were in Kentucky, GG got strep throat and we made a trip to the ER. Of course Josh wasn't with me because he was home working. So, thanks to everyone for helping me out so much. We did have a really good time. Sophie starts middle school next week. I cannot believe the summer is over. I'm so sad. I love having her home. So stay tuned, we'll have more Whiting adventures coming soon.

This little girl

What would I do without her? She has brought so much energy and life and laughter to our family. She has her moments, that's for sure. But doesn't every toddler. Every child. Every mommy :). She is almost 22 months now. She says so many words and phrases. She's learning her colors, but everything is green right now. She counts but she doesn't start at one. She says seven, eight, nine, ten! She loves her big sister and little brother to pieces. She is fiercely independent and very strong willed. Both my girls are. Where did they get that from?

Today I just took her to a summer fun day at our church. She'll be there from 9am to noon. This is her first time away from me like this. I took her to her room with her little lunch bag packed. She was so big and said " Bye Mommy!" gave me a kiss and off she went to play.
 I miss her already.

My little man

almost 10 weeks old
14 pounds
slept from 9 am to 5 pm two nights in a row
won't do it again for a while because i just bragged about it :)

he smiles so much now
even though he looks so serious in these pictures
he loves watching his sisters play and run around
he loves cuddling with his daddy
and mommy... well she's the one with the food ;)

* update: i wrote this last night before bedtime. he only slept 6 hours last night waking up at 3 am. i'm ok with that...i  can function on 6 hours

We've been baking...

and it's been so much fun. I've not ever been much of a baker. My mom got us a Kitchen Aid mixer for our wedding but I have not used it much. This past week, Josh's mom gave us a kitchen island and we've loved having the extra counter space. So we've been baking up a storm.

We've made homemade carrot cake, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies, homemade whipped cream for strawberry shortcake. Yum.
Sometimes, I feel like I give the little ones so much attention and Sophie doesn't get much of my time. This has been really good and fun for us to spend some quality time together.
Not very good for my post pregnancy diet though. But that's ok, you only live once!
So enjoy it!

5:30 am

This is what we were doing. Watching Barney in Mommy and Daddy's bed.

We were actually awakened at 2:30 am by a sweet teenager from across the street knocking loudly on our door and ringing the door bell and then running away. Josh and I bolted out of the bed and Sophie woke up thinking someone had broken into our house. We should have gone and had coffee with his parents at 2:30 this morning. We didn't but will be having a talk with them this afternoon. Fun times.
* I just sat down for a minute and re-read this post. When did we become the people that had to go and complain to other parents about their kids? It just sounds funny to me. I feel so grown up:):).

Bless you

Last night, Josh sneezed a couple of times.
We hear G.G. whisper " Bess you Daddy".
And my heart burst into a million pieces.
