The weekend.. part one

We found out last week that Josh's family was having a family reunion in Orlando over the Memorial Day weekend. So we packed up the kids and the van and set out on a 12 hour driving "adventure" :). It was crazy and exhausting but lots of fun. Josh got to see lots of family that he hasn't seen in a long time. And I got to meet lots of his family I've never met. And we got to show off our children, which is always fun.

We spent Friday night and Saturday with his grandparents.
We went swimming ( in between thunderstorms), we picked flowers, we relaxed on the porch and chased lizards.
Saturday night we had dinner with his Aunt Jan ( Grampy Gordon's sister) and her family. It was a good time and good to meet them. We haven't seen Aunt Jan since our wedding.

The little girl with GG above is Josh's cousins daughter, Lexie. We were talking about names and I found out that she is named after Josh's grandma, just like GG. Her name is Geneva Delia.
Lexie's middle name is Delia and GG's first name is Geneva. I thought that was sweet.

Sunday was the big family reunion....

The weekend... part two

... and it was great fun.
Aunt Nancy lives on a lake and has a big yard to roam and play in. The kids loved it. She has chickens too! GG loved the chickens.
They hired a karaoke guy to come and I found out my husband is a MASTER at karaoke. He's been hiding this from me for a while :).  Please enjoy the video below. (Sorry honey, I LOVE you! :))

My favorite though was when he and his cousin Sheri sang a Beastie Boys song. I didn't get a video but there are pictures above in the collage. It was great.
So the trip home was pretty much uneventful. Just long and tiring. Shep is sick now, we can always depend on one of our kids getting sick after a trip. It's ok, we're just hanging out at home and recovering.

So proud

This is Sophie's last day of school. Her last day of being a 6th grader. This year has passed so quickly. I can't believe she'll be in 7th grade and she'll be 13 this year.
I am so proud of her. For all that she is becoming.
She received two awards at school. An "Academic Excellence in Mathematics" award and an "Art Achievement Award".
That girl is well rounded, math and art. I love it.
And I love her.

A rainy day

I love a good rainy day. Especially when you've got two little ones who aren't feeling well.
You don't feel guilty about not getting out and doing something with them.

It's ok to just stay inside and play and rest.

That's what we're doing today.

Trying to get these little ones feeling better.

These two babies...

are sick.
We are a whiney, snotty, coughy, feverish mess over here.
Feel better soon sweet babies!

iheartfaces: hats

I feel like it's been a while since I've entered an iheartfaces contest. I guess we've had a lot going on around here. This weeks theme is hats. I've posted this picture before, but it's so cute I'm going to enter it this week. This is Shep in his new sun hat from Great Aunt Nell. We were getting ready for the beach.

I'm not crazy about the flash, the lighting was bad in the hotel room, but it's a cute picture of my baby nonetheless.
Check out iheartfaces for more hat photos.

He's one year old today.
But he'll always be our baby.
Happy Birthday to our sweet boy Shep.
We love you more every day.
