i heart faces : best face

It's been a while since I joined in the fun over at i heart faces. This weeks theme is "Best Face". And the picture has to be recent. Taken from December or January. I took this photo of Sophie on January 3rd. It is my favorite of her right now. I just love her eyes and her sweet smile.

It's also their birthday week. Head over there and check out the great giveaways they are having. And enjoy other "best faces".

A Picture A Day

I have made a decision. One of several for this new year. In the hopes of distracting myself from the enormous laundry pile looking at me   practicing my photography every day this year, I am attempting to do "A Picture A Day " blog. I've seen other blogs like this so it's not something that I came up with. I just want to really work on my photography. It's something that I love and want to continue to grow in.

So please feel free to head over there and take a look. I've already missed January 4th. Oh well. I'll do the best I can. I am a mother of three busy, busy angel babies you know.

iheartfaces: hats

I feel like it's been a while since I've entered an iheartfaces contest. I guess we've had a lot going on around here. This weeks theme is hats. I've posted this picture before, but it's so cute I'm going to enter it this week. This is Shep in his new sun hat from Great Aunt Nell. We were getting ready for the beach.

I'm not crazy about the flash, the lighting was bad in the hotel room, but it's a cute picture of my baby nonetheless.
Check out iheartfaces for more hat photos.

i heart faces: easter/spring

This is my oldest and youngest little Easter bunnies. It was Shep's first Easter. He was absolutely precious. As were all my babies. Thought this photo was particularly sweet.

I am entering the iheartfaces contest this week in the amateur category. Because that is exactly what I am. I have a lot to learn yet. I am open to any advice or constructive :) criticism you may have. Head over to iheartfaces for lots of great springy photos.

i heart faces: friends

This weeks theme at iheartfaces is friends. We just returned yesterday from our annual family reunion. So there were lots of good opportunities to get shots of friends. Oh, what fun we had. But thats a whole other post for itself. Until then...
These two sweet little girls are " best cousin friends". That is what my GG calls her cousin Hattie. 10 months apart ( Hattie is the older of the two). And they love each other. They play so well together and we all have the best time watching them. They were making goofy faces for me here.

Next up is my adult entry. This is my cousin Audrey and her ( and my) uncle Marty. So they are family, but friends too. When I got home last night and began to look at all my photos, this quickly became one of my favorites. I love it. I love that Audrey is laughing and I love the smile Marty is giving. And the bunny ears, just shows what a silly, sweet family we have.

So head over to iheartfaces to see some great friends photos.

i heart faces : pouting

This is my submission for iheartfaces this week. First, I need to apologize to the ABD (Angel Babies Daddy). This photo makes him sad. But it's really not that sad though. She was throwing on heck of a two year old tantrum. I did something horrible like asked her not to take toys away from her brother. So then what did this mother of the year do?? Grabbed her camera and took pictures of the tantrum. Such a sweet mommy. Anyway, head over to ihearfaces to see even more great pouters.

i heart faces : no flash

We just returned from a wonderful Spring Break trip. More on that later. For now, this is my beautiful daughter Sophie. I snapped this of her in the pool one day. It was an indoor pool with lots of windows on a sunny day. No flash needed.

Visit iheartfaces to check out more great pictures for this weeks contest.

Creative Cropping - i heart faces

It's another week at I Heart Faces.
This week is Creative Crop. I think I'm way out of my league here, no beginner category this week, but it's fun to look at all the great photos. If anyone would like to give me some constructive criticism, advice etc., it would be much appreciated.
This is GG. She was about 6 months old in this picture.

Below is the before shot. Sweet picture, but I love how the cropping brings out her eyes and just her sweet expression.
So head over to I Heart Faces and check out all the other photos.

iheartfaces : Messy

I found a great website to help me with my new toy. It's iheartfaces.
They have weekly contests and this week they have a section for "beginners". I do believe that is what I am. So I'm entering.
This is our little 10 month old Shep. He is having his first taste of blueberries today. And he loved them. He wasn't too messy, but good enough.
