We've moved!!

Finally! We moved out of our rental house. We are now permanent residents of Alabama. We closed on our house Tuesday November 20th. We moved a few things that week and even had Thanksgiving dinner here. Josh's parents came and helped us get most of our big stuff that weekend. Then the next week, we all got a rotten, horrible stomach virus. So we were sidelined for a good week. Yuk. We're finally all feeling better and hoping to get everything else here by this weekend. We love it. Sophie has a much bigger room and so does G.G.. There is a room for the new baby and a guest bedroom.
Below are just a few pictures of the girls playing in the yard.

The neighborhood is on a ridge, I guess, so it is very hilly. Our front yard is a big hill. The picture above is G.G. running down the hill. She LOVES to be outside and run down the yard. She usually falls and rolls a little at the end. I think that is her favorite part.

Christmas Parade

We went to our town's local Christmas Parade last Saturday. We moved here last year after the parade had already happened so we were very excited to go this year. We went to eat lunch at a deli in the historic section of town. Sort of our small town "downtown". We decided just to walk and see the parade from that area. It was the end of the parade route. We were standing and waiting and this local art store owner had two chairs set up and we were standing behind them ( in front of his store). He was very nice and offered one of his chairs to me. Being pregnant, I took it and thanked him very much. Anyway, throughout the whole parade, he would ask Sophie to run and get him candy that the parade participants had thrown to the crowd. At one point even, he was going for a piece of candy and a little girl ran over and got it. He made her give it to him. Definitely a different sort of guy. Funny to watch though. We did have a good time and we saw several of Sophie's friends in the parade.

What's new with the girls?

1. Sophie is very excited about the holiday season coming up. She's doing some things with her youth group at church like the Samaritan Shoe Box donation that she's really happy about.

2. G.G. has really started liking to read books. Instead of flipping through the pages really fast, she'll take her time and look at pictures and talk.

3. When we change G.G.'s diaper, she says " Ewww!".

4. Sophie is WAY into American History right now. It's great. Her teacher is really passionate about it and it is rubbing off. She'll take a class field trip to Washington D.C. in April so she's gearing up for that.

5. Instead of saying " bye bye" G.G. now says " Bye!" in a really high pitched, drawn out southern accent. So cute.

6. It's amazing to see how much they love each other. G.G. calls Sophie 'Sissy' and says a big " Hiii!" whenever she sees her. Sophie is very sweet and affectionate with her and loves to twirl around the living room and dance with her.

As far as the new little one, I'm feeling a little better. I think I'm about 4 months along. That sounds horrible, but with a 14 month old running around, I don't think about being pregnant too much yet.

We are also trying to buy a house right now. I'm so hesitant to talk about it but we are so excited. Supposed to close next week, so say a prayer for us please!

hAppy HaLlowEEn

Here are my two trick- or -treaters. The little one is a duck and the big one is a dead prom queen. It's amazing having these two so far apart in age. I still want Sophie to be cute and have a happy, sweet costume but she's really into the scary dead things right now.

She did look really good. I bought an old bridesmaid dress from a thrift store and we ripped it and cut it and made it look really ratty. She loved her costume.

And my little duck was so sweet. Here she is with her crazy, bloody DR daddy.

We had a good night. Our neighborhood is FULL of kids. We never could really trick-or-treat our neighborhood in Memphis. We always went to friends houses. It was great to stay home and walk around and see neighbors out. Sophie went out with her youth group from church in our neighborhood. So she's out right now having fun with her friends.

Happy Halloween everyone!!

35

Well, I'm 35 today. I'm proud to say that. I don't feel 35. Not in my mind but I guess my body is starting to feel it a little.
Anyway, more importantly, this is what I woke up to today. My sweet, sweet older daughter got up way before me, turned my alarm clock off and proceeded to make me coffee and breakfast. Josh is still out of town working, so she decided to make this a special morning for me. Look at that spread. She amazes me at how thoughtful she is. I don't know what I would do without you Sophie!

She made the two cards above taped to the tray. One was from her and one from GG. She even had GG "write" in her card. So sweet.

This was my present. She loves to make jewelry and she made me a necklace and a button bracelet. I LOVE it and will wear them everywhere.

Below are the two sweeties this morning.

Thank you Sophie for making this morning so great!

Pumpkin Pickin Time

We decided to go to a Pumpkin Patch this Sunday. We had never been to the kind where you get to pick your own pumpkin out in the field. It was a beautiful day and we had a good time. It was very crowded. I got some great pictures of Sophie but little Miss GG wouldn't look at the camera. There was too much going on to be bothered by posing for a picture!

this is the only one that she's actually looking at me

UGH!

My body does not handle pregnancy well. I haven't been taking many pictures of the kids and am not feeling at all creative at the moment. I don't just get morning sickness. It is all day every day. So I'm gonna be on a little bloggy vaca for just a little bit. Please ya'll, don't leave me for good. Maybe this baby will give me a little rest after the first trimester.
