A wedding!

and other fun stuff...

This is my brother Jason and his new bride Jennifer. They were married on 

6-7-08. 

What a cool wedding date. I am so happy for them. It was a really sweet wedding at my dads house. 

Welcome to the family Jennifer!

My dad built this huge playground in his backyard and it was perfect. All the kids had a blast playing on it. Even during the ceremony.

Here is Sophie all dressed up. She is growing up way too fast. She is at church camp this week and from what I have heard, having so much fun. We miss her though.

Before we all headed back home, we met up with my brother Andy and my sister in law Megan and Hayden and Hattie for lunch. Hayden and Sophie were really good. G.G. and Hattie were little stinkers though :). Terrible twos were among us for sure :):).

This was G.G. and Shep's first bath together. G.G. thought it was great. She sure loves her little brother. 

We were all supposed to leave Monday to go to St Augustine Florida with Josh. He had a conference there for work and we thought it would be fun to make a little vacation out of it. We woke up Monday and Shep was really congested and had a little fever. We decided that Sophie would go with Josh and I would stay home with the little ones. We didn't feel comfortable with being so far from home if he got really sick. He was just 5 weeks. It was a good decision because he did not sleep at all on Monday and by Tuesday morning had a fever of 100.2. We went to the DR and he had an ear infection in both ears and bronchitis. He got an antibiotic shot and just told me to give him saline drops in his nose and run a cool mist humidifier. I was doing that already. I had to bring him back the next day for a re-check and they also told me if his fever went up at all, to take him to the emergency room that night. Fun. A toddler and a newborn in the er in the middle of the night, by myself! Luckily Josh called his mom and she immediately drove 6 hours to come and help me. Thank you Linda! She stayed the rest of the week and just helped me with everything. Mostly with G.G. so I could take care of Shep. I appreciate it sooo much.

So below are some pictures of Sophie and her Daddy's trip to St Augustine. They had so much fun and I think it was really good for them to have some time away from the little ones. Sophie helps me so much so I was happy she was having time with just her daddy. 

What a crazy couple of weeks we've had! I'm on my way to take Shep back to the Dr. I think his ear is still bothering him.

UGH!

My body does not handle pregnancy well. I haven't been taking many pictures of the kids and am not feeling at all creative at the moment. I don't just get morning sickness. It is all day every day. So I'm gonna be on a little bloggy vaca for just a little bit. Please ya'll, don't leave me for good. Maybe this baby will give me a little rest after the first trimester.

Kentucky!

So after Florida and Chattanooga and Knoxville, we went to visit family in Kentucky. We really had a great time with all of our friends and family. Below are the pictures to prove it!

It was also my cousin Rachel's 16th birthday. She had a surprise birthday party and we were so glad to be there!

So that capped off our summer travels. Can't wait to do it again!!

Finally... SeaWorld !

So we went to SeaWorld on the 5th of July. Grandma Linda came down from Chattanooga and babysat little G.G. for us. It was great because it was SOOO crowded and I can't imagine having to try and maneuver a stroller around in that crowd.

We saw the Shamu show first. We loved it. Sophie didn't want to sit in the splash zone so we were up high in the stands.

We ended our vacation just having a couple of days to visit with family and friends.

And then we headed home! And we needed a vacation to recover from our vacation :)

Vacation 2007: Bye, Bye Beach, Hello Orlando

So we left the beach behind and headed toward Orlando. It really seemed like it took us forever to get there. The baby was good, but we did have to stop more than usual. Josh's family (grandparents and aunts and uncles) live in Orlando so we stayed with his grandparents. It was so nice to see everyone. It was the first time his grandparents saw G.G. and, of course, they were head over heels for her. Grandma Brigham bought a boat to put in the pool for the girls and Sophie loved playing in it.

We spent the day Sunday playing in the pool and visiting. Monday we went to Universal Studio. We had a lot of fun. We took G.G. so Josh and I took turns riding the big rides with Sophie. After the first ride, they got to meet Sponge Bob.

Mommy and G.G. got to meet Barney! I was very excited, I admit, I do love Barney.

Tuesday, Aunt Laney and Grandma Brigham babysat G.G. for us and we went to Universals Island of Adventure. It was great because we both got to ride all the big rides with Sophie. We are big roller coaster fans so we LOVED it. I was a little disappointed when we got home because we didn't have that many pictures. I guess we were too busy having FUN.

Vacation 2007: 6/28 - 6/30

We have just returned from the most wonderful vacation. We had so much fun! We were supposed to leave Saturday the 30th and head to Orlando, FL. Josh took a couple of days off early and we decided to spend those at the beach in Panama City before we got into all the magic (chaos) of Orlando. It was really nice. We stayed at a kid friendly hotel right on the beach. They had a great pool and water park for the kids. Friday night was movie night by the pool and they set up a big screen and Sophie watched a movie while swimming. G.G. didn't do well at the beach at all. A teething 9 1/2 month old who puts everything in her mouth and sand don't mix well. My sweet husband was wonderful and took her back to the room and I spent the day Friday on the beach with Sophie. We had a great time jumping the waves and trying to swim out to the sand bar. I did get burned. Not so smart on my part. Thats what happens when mom worries about everyone else having sunscreen and forgets to put it on herself. Oh well, it has turned into a great tan. Below are a few pics from our time on the beach. Spring Break 4/16/07 - 4/21/07

Well, we had a great time on Sophie's spring break. Josh was working out of town so we decided to go back to Memphis and Kentucky and have a visit with family and friends. It was fun. We first went to Memphis and stayed with my brother Andy and sister in law Megan. The girls had fun playing with their cousins, Hattie and Hayden. We also met up with my Dad and step-Mom and my other brother Jason and his girlfriend Jennifer. We miss everyone so much and it was so nice to all be together again. We didn't get to visit with everyone we wanted to. Time got away from us a little.We then headed up to Kentucky to see my mom and my grandparents and aunts and uncles and cousins. The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed a lot of time outside with the kids.

G.G. did come back home sick. We went to the DR and she has an ear infection and just a bad cold , I guess. Lots of congestion. So we are staying home and trying to get her well.
