To help me feel better

So we are again sick around here. I'll spare you the details. Just wanted to add a few new pictures to help me feel better. Hopefully we'll be back up and going soon.

Shep is almost 9 months old. Can't believe it. He's my little man.
These are  GG's new shoes she's showing off. I love how Shep is sneaking up in the background.
Sometimes they hold hands in the car.

Sophie once again is on a picture hiatus. I'll get her soon though.

A Little Bit o' GG

Cereal with milk. This just makes me look at her and know she is no longer a baby. She's a big girl that can eat cereal with milk for breakfast without making a mess.

And it's that time of year again. Footie pajamas. This makes me feel like she's not so big after all. She is so small and cozy and warm when she wears these. I love to snuggle up with her like this.
It's also time for the first cold of the season. And it's a doozy. Fever and everything.
Get well sweet girl.

Relief

... that is what I feel right now. The past week and a half has been crazy! We started off last Saturday with Josh waking up not feeling well. By that evening he was in so much pain we went to the emergency room to have them release him at 3 am with no diagnosis. Sunday was horrible for him so on Monday we got in to see his DR. They immediately admitted him to the hospital with an infection that required IV antibiotics. So he was in there until Tuesday night.  They let him come home but he was ordered to rest for the week.

He went back to the DR this past Monday and they released him to head back to work this week. Today is his first day back. It was a really scary couple of days for us. I am SOOO happy he is ok.
This picture of G.G. just kind of sums up the week in our house. Josh not feeling well and resting, me nursing a baby and Sophie started middle school. The toddler had free reign.
Let me just say I can't believe my little Sophie is in middle school. She switches classes every class and has a locker. This has been a huge deal for her and her friends. She was even quizzing Josh and me about when do we think she should go back to her locker. After every class or every two classes? It is really cute how new and exciting everything is for her. I love it. I miss her so much though. I wish I was brave enough to homeschool, just to have her with me all the time. I'm sure she would have none of that though. She's a very independent, social girl.
The two little ones are doing well. Just growing and growing every day. I can't stand it. G.G. is really into identifying all her colors right now. She talks all the time and just makes me laugh every day. She loves to sing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" in this really funny voice because she knows it cracks me up. She is also running, climbing and jumping constantly. She had a couple of big falls off the couch the other day, so we'll see if any lessons were learned there.
Little Shep is just my precious baby boy. Nurses like a champ and sleeps all night. A couple of nights ago he woke up at around 11 pm and then again at 4 in the morning. I think he is beginning to teethe. He's been a little cranky lately. He just rolled over from back to tummy a couple of days ago.  He smiles all the time and we are just enjoying every moment of his babyhood. The milestones are exciting but I'm sure not rushing them! :)

A wedding!

and other fun stuff...
This is my brother Jason and his new bride Jennifer. They were married on
6-7-08.
What a cool wedding date. I am so happy for them. It was a really sweet wedding at my dads house.
Welcome to the family Jennifer!
My dad built this huge playground in his backyard and it was perfect. All the kids had a blast playing on it. Even during the ceremony.
Here is Sophie all dressed up. She is growing up way too fast. She is at church camp this week and from what I have heard, having so much fun. We miss her though.
Uncle Jason and little Shep.
Before we all headed back home, we met up with my brother Andy and my sister in law Megan and Hayden and Hattie for lunch. Hayden and Sophie were really good. G.G. and Hattie were little stinkers though :). Terrible twos were among us for sure :):).
This was G.G. and Shep's first bath together. G.G. thought it was great. She sure loves her little brother.
We were all supposed to leave Monday to go to St Augustine Florida with Josh. He had a conference there for work and we thought it would be fun to make a little vacation out of it. We woke up Monday and Shep was really congested and had a little fever. We decided that Sophie would go with Josh and I would stay home with the little ones. We didn't feel comfortable with being so far from home if he got really sick. He was just 5 weeks. It was a good decision because he did not sleep at all on Monday and by Tuesday morning had a fever of 100.2. We went to the DR and he had an ear infection in both ears and bronchitis. He got an antibiotic shot and just told me to give him saline drops in his nose and run a cool mist humidifier. I was doing that already. I had to bring him back the next day for a re-check and they also told me if his fever went up at all, to take him to the emergency room that night. Fun. A toddler and a newborn in the er in the middle of the night, by myself! Luckily Josh called his mom and she immediately drove 6 hours to come and help me. Thank you Linda! She stayed the rest of the week and just helped me with everything. Mostly with G.G. so I could take care of Shep. I appreciate it sooo much.

So below are some pictures of Sophie and her Daddy's trip to St Augustine. They had so much fun and I think it was really good for them to have some time away from the little ones. Sophie helps me so much so I was happy she was having time with just her daddy.

What a crazy couple of weeks we've had! I'm on my way to take Shep back to the Dr. I think his ear is still bothering him.

A not so fun filled week

What a week we've had! Not the kind you want when you've got a newborn in the house. Last week, around the  23rd, G.G. came down with a fever and congestion. And per usual, I did too. We went through the weekend just treating symptoms but by last Wednesday I was feeling WAY bad. I gathered up the little ones and Sophie went with me to help and went to the DR. I ended up having to leave because Shep decided to cry and not stop and I just couldn't take it. So on Thursday I was just feeling even worse and decided I had to go. We all loaded up again and tried to make it through. I was there for over three hours. Not fun but so glad that I stayed this time. It turns out that I had walking pneumonia.  They gave me some antibiotics and sent me on my way. Today is Sunday and I have actually started to feel better.  Friday I decided to take the two little ones to the DR just to get checked out because I was having a panic attack that maybe they had it too. G.G. was still coughing and acting VERY cranky. She ended up having an ear infection in both ears so now she is taking medicine. Shep has a clogged tear duct so he gets to have drops in his eyes.
Add to all that the intense sleep deprivation and postnatal hormones and you have one fun mother and wife.
So yeah... I've had better weeks. :)

G.G. was a bit cranky last night so I introduced her to the kitchen sink. We pulled up her stool and she helped me wash dishes. She loved it and I think would have played for hours. I finally remembered to grab the camera for some pictures.

Shep is getting so big. He was 8 lbs 2 oz at birth and 7 lbs 2 oz at about 5 days old. When we went to the DR on Friday, he weighed 10 lbs 8 oz.  Three pounds! I was surprised. He is such a good little baby. He actually has been doing fairly well the last few nights. He'll go down at about 9 pm and wake up at about 1 am. Last night he didn't wake up until almost 3 am. Wow! I really needed to get a few hours of continuous sleep in. So, thank you little man!

Oh! He's also one month old today. Happy one month sweet guy!
I love you with all my heart!
