The Sandcastle

I have a confession.
Josh didn't make this sandcastle.
He made me say he did. He thought it would be funny.
I'm sorry.
But I do have a story about it though!
The infamous sandcastle.

During my alone day on the beach, I saw this family working on this sandcastle. I think they just had one son. But there was another family on the other side of me that had three children, I think. But they both had similar ideas of how to involve your children in sandcastle making. You don't. The family ( mom & dad) that made this sandcastle were serious about it. I saw them repeatedly get on to their son for not doing something right or messing something up. Finally he went on to play with the kids from the other OCD sandcastle building mom who kept telling her daughter " Scrape! Don't dig! I see you digging! Just go on and play somewhere else!". Seriously!?
So that's the story with this sandcastle. It is pretty though. So you know what we did right?
We let our daughter destroy it.
At least one kid got to have fun with it.

Happy and Exhausted.

Whew... what a weekend we had. I decided to drive south to see my traveling husband over the weekend. He's been gone way too long and we needed a fix. So I grabbed the little ones ( Sophie decided she would rather stay here in town at a friends house) and took off. Let me just say something about Sophie. We missed her so much. I understand the age she is at and that she is beginning to enjoy being with her friends a lot more but man, I hate it. I'm selfish and I like it when all my babies are with me. Anyway... we got to Dothan Friday evening. Had some sushi (yum) and turned in for the night. Saturday morning we headed to the beach for the weekend. GG has been saying on a daily basis that she wants to go to the beach. "And will you go with her?" " Do you want to go to the beach?" " Can I dig in the sand?" " Can I?" " Can I?"  That is a lot of what she's been saying lately so we decided to, finally, GO TO THE BEACH already. And my sweet sweet husband took the kids for most of the day Sunday and let me be alone. I didn't really know what to do with myself at first. I figured it out pretty quickly. I laid on the beach, drank pina coladas and read a book. It was glorious. I did miss them though. A little ;).

Finally! She got to dig.
Good Morning Sheppy!

Just GG.

In her bathing "soup". She was very excited to be wearing her "soup" and even asked the maintenance man putting up the safety net if he like her "soup".  "See, it has fwowers!", she told him.
Shep in his super cute suit and hat. Thank you to my Great Aunt Nell for giving this to him. He was precious in it!

The view from our room. There was a dance competition the day we got there. It was crazy and not so much fun for us. Although I think all the competitors were having a great time. It was so weird how rude they all were. Anyway...
After a long day.
Spinning in her new cute, colorful dress from the Walmarts.
Aaahhh!! Scary!
Josh worked all day on this sandcastle.
Awww... my boys.

A walk on the beach with Daddy.
Sunrise.

A sneak peek...

...into our weekend.
More to come.

i heart faces: easter/spring

This is my oldest and youngest little Easter bunnies. It was Shep's first Easter. He was absolutely precious. As were all my babies. Thought this photo was particularly sweet.

I am entering the iheartfaces contest this week in the amateur category. Because that is exactly what I am. I have a lot to learn yet. I am open to any advice or constructive :) criticism you may have. Head over to iheartfaces for lots of great springy photos.

i heart faces: friends

This weeks theme at iheartfaces is friends. We just returned yesterday from our annual family reunion. So there were lots of good opportunities to get shots of friends. Oh, what fun we had. But thats a whole other post for itself. Until then...
These two sweet little girls are " best cousin friends". That is what my GG calls her cousin Hattie. 10 months apart ( Hattie is the older of the two). And they love each other. They play so well together and we all have the best time watching them. They were making goofy faces for me here.

Next up is my adult entry. This is my cousin Audrey and her ( and my) uncle Marty. So they are family, but friends too. When I got home last night and began to look at all my photos, this quickly became one of my favorites. I love it. I love that Audrey is laughing and I love the smile Marty is giving. And the bunny ears, just shows what a silly, sweet family we have.

So head over to iheartfaces to see some great friends photos.

Happy 11 months!

I cannot believe this child is 11 months old today. He is so close to walking, I can't stand it! He points at everything. And he is busy, busy, busy! But he still has his chubby, soft, sweet skin and I can't get enough of him.
We love you pal!
