This little girl
What would I do without her? She has brought so much energy and life and laughter to our family. She has her moments, that's for sure. But doesn't every toddler. Every child. Every mommy :). She is almost 22 months now. She says so many words and phrases. She's learning her colors, but everything is green right now. She counts but she doesn't start at one. She says seven, eight, nine, ten! She loves her big sister and little brother to pieces. She is fiercely independent and very strong willed. Both my girls are. Where did they get that from?
Today I just took her to a summer fun day at our church. She'll be there from 9am to noon. This is her first time away from me like this. I took her to her room with her little lunch bag packed. She was so big and said " Bye Mommy!" gave me a kiss and off she went to play.
I miss her already.

Bless you
Last night, Josh sneezed a couple of times.
We hear G.G. whisper " Bess you Daddy".
And my heart burst into a million pieces.

Letting them go
Big Mama has a wonderful post today about letting our children grow up. It was something I really needed to read today. Perfect timing! Sophie is heading off to middle school next year and I'm a mess about it :).

What's new with the girls?
1. Sophie is very excited about the holiday season coming up. She's doing some things with her youth group at church like the Samaritan Shoe Box donation that she's really happy about.
2. G.G. has really started liking to read books. Instead of flipping through the pages really fast, she'll take her time and look at pictures and talk.
3. When we change G.G.'s diaper, she says " Ewww!".
4. Sophie is WAY into American History right now. It's great. Her teacher is really passionate about it and it is rubbing off. She'll take a class field trip to Washington D.C. in April so she's gearing up for that.
5. Instead of saying " bye bye" G.G. now says " Bye!" in a really high pitched, drawn out southern accent. So cute.
6. It's amazing to see how much they love each other. G.G. calls Sophie 'Sissy' and says a big " Hiii!" whenever she sees her. Sophie is very sweet and affectionate with her and loves to twirl around the living room and dance with her.
As far as the new little one, I'm feeling a little better. I think I'm about 4 months along. That sounds horrible, but with a 14 month old running around, I don't think about being pregnant too much yet.
We are also trying to buy a house right now. I'm so hesitant to talk about it but we are so excited. Supposed to close next week, so say a prayer for us please!

ONE!
One year ago today, September 14, 2006, our baby Geneva Grey was born. She made us a family of four. She has grown into the sweetest, funniest little toddler I know. We all can't imagine our lives without her. She loves baby dolls and teddy bears and any stuffed animal she can get her hands on. She says no no, dada, sissy, dog, water, hi and hey, momma, oh man and any kind of food or drink is cracker ( caku ). She loves to pick up the phone and say hello ( oh ). She is very social and loves to go swimming and will go under the water! She rode a merry-go-round at the mall for the first time this week and had a 10 mile smile! She loved it.
Happy Birthday G.G.!
Here is your first year in pictures...

Happy Birthday my Sunshine
Today my Sophie Sunshine is 11. Eleven. I can't believe it. It doesn't seem like it has been 11 years since you were growing in my belly. Since I first heard your cry. Since I first held you in my arms and fell so completely in love with you. More than I ever thought I could love someone. You have changed my life in so many ways.
My prayer for you on your birthday is that your life will continue to be blessed. I pray that you will grow into a kind, smart, funny, artistic, crazy ( in a good way:)) woman. I pray that I will be able to witness that.
I am so proud to call you my daughter.
I love you with all my heart!
Love, Mom

She smiled this time
Sophie made the honor roll. We are just so proud of her. She's really doing well in her new school. I do think she is very happy that it is summer vacation now. This was her last week of school. She's looking forward to lazy days at the pool and staying up late.
She also had her end of the year party at school. They had a luau theme and did face painting. This girl LOVES monkeys, so she of course had a monkey painted on her face.

Go Girl!
So I need to be one of "those" moms and brag shamelessly about my daughter for a moment. Ya'll, she got straight A's on her report card this semester. She has worked so hard and I am so proud of her. And she is proud of herself, which is the most important thing. She is on the honor roll and they'll have an assembly this week. So here's to my little Sophie Sunshine! Love you with all my heart!
