Funny things the kids said that I never want to forget...
This post may just be for me. There are always these moments with kids. They say something so FUNNY, or sweet that you just want to burn into your memory. Because I haven't been keeping up with their baby books, I thought I would note them here. You may see these posts often :). I don't want to forget!
- GG: When Shep was just learning to crawl, she must've been a little over two years old. She was standing in the door of my bedroom that I was in doing something. Shep crawled out of the room and down the hallway. To only herself, as she watched him crawl down the hall, she said quietly, " I'm gonna ride him.". Oh, I died.
- Sophie: When she was about 2 years old I came into her room as she was playing with her dollhouse. She looked up at me and said, "Mommy, wanna play forgether?". I melted.
- Shep: Let's see, he must've been around 2 years old. We were all at the dinner table and he said, " I nee ha drink.". Clearly, "I need have drink.". Josh thought he said, "I need hydrate.". I just think that is so funny. He thought Shep was so smart to know he needed to hydrate. hehehehe :)
- Shep: Maybe about 3 1/2 or 4 years old. We were all at the dinner table. It was quiet until Shep sang out, "Nationwide is on your side.".

My BABY is 5!
Shep turned 5 years old May 1st! I can't believe the "baby" of our family is a big 5 year old. He'll begin Kindergarten this year. Crazy. We had a wonderful day. He and I had a lunch date at a local pizza place. I love spending one on one time with each of my kids.
We then headed over for some play time at a place called Pretend Play City. Shep had the most fun in the animal doctor area. I love watching him use his imagination.
Of course he jumped in the bouncy house for a while.
Time for presents! All he asked for this year was a Buzz Lightyear doll. He got it! And his Grampy and Grandma got him the Woody doll to go along with it.
Strawberry shortcake birthday cake! Yum!
After dinner and presents and cake, he said " Thanks ya'll guys for making my birthday so great.". I MELTED. What a sweet boy he is. I 'm so proud and blessed to be his mommy.

Where has the time gone...
Wow! A year and a half of silence here on Angel Babies. It surely hasn't been boring around here for the past 18 months. I've had lots I could blog about but, just haven't had the desire to do so. I think facebook has ruined blogging for me. I can be there and post photos and then I come here and don't really want to repeat myself. Recently, I went back on my facebook posts to find something I wrote about one of the kids and I couldn't find it. I realized I have been using this blog as a scrapbook of sorts to keep up with our life. Facebook is not the place for that.
So I've decided to try and make a habit of coming here with photos and updates on the kids and our life. One day maybe I can print this out into a book for them to have.
There is no way I can go back and catch up this full year so I'm just starting new.

Most recently, GG graduated Kindergarten!
She is so excited to be done and now she's a FIRST GRADER!
I can't believe how time flies. She's struggled a bit this year. Only with the behavior of her class. Apparently at school, she's not the wild woman she is at home. At school she likes it calm and quiet and is eager to learn and help. Some of her classmates struggle with obedience and she has a hard time with it. Her teacher has been so wonderful and made this school year really good for her. She's a reader now! And she's really into math at the moment.
We are so proud of our little G-nut peanut!

This friend....
God has blessed me with. She has been there with me in the happiest of times and the not so great times. We both can get caught up in the whirlwind of motherhood and just... life, and not talk for the longest time. But when we finally do, it is seamless. We just pick up where we left off. I just love her.
I love to see our children together.
Fifteen years ago, she was there ,in the room with me, and witnessed the birth of my Sophie. And she helped me care for her in the beginning days when I had to return to work and hadn't found a day care. We've been friends for 20 years now, which is really hard to believe!
I can't imagine life without her.
I wish everyone the blessing of a friend like her.
Love you Keri!!

TEAM
Sophie left this morning for her JV Volleyball State Championship game. I'm missing it. And that makes me a little sad. She's the captain of the team this year and has been a wonderful leader. I am so proud of her and of the team.
Go Lady Knights!!
