one little monkey jumping on the ...

couch.
she fell off and broke her
ARM!
ouch!
Thursday, GG was climbing and jumping all over the couch. I'm bad about letting them do that. This time wasn't so much fun. She fell off the back of the couch and broke her little arm. It was sad. It didn't look broken, but when she wouldn't stop crying after about 30 minutes I decided to take a trip to the ER. I'm glad we did. It's broken in two places. They put a temporary cast on and today we went to the orthopedic doc and she got a cool pink one.
She'll recover nicely. And hopefully we've all learned a lesson about jumping on the furniture :).

A cup of tea

or hot chocolate.
Today GG and I decided to have a nice, warm cup of hot chocolate.
Perfect for a chilly morning.

I served it to her in my mothers wedding china.
She said " Oh no Mommy. That's not for me. It's breakable."
I told her she was old enough now to drink out of these big girl , breakable cups.
It was a sweet moment sharing a cup of hot chocolate with her. Enjoying our morning.

GG and her Barbies

GG very much takes after her mommy and her sister. She loves her Barbies. They are all she wants to play with right now. Even pitching big fits to go get new Barbies. Every morning she wakes up and asked if Santa came to bring her new Barbies.

This is how she makes them talk. All in each others personal space.

I love that she's such a girly girl.

An outing

It's been ccccold here. Well, for southern Alabama it's cold. So it's been challenging to try and find things to do for the littles. Sophie is back in school and not here to entertain them. So yesterday we ventured out and hit up the local Barnes and Noble for story time. I was three minutes late and missed the story. But we did a craft/coloring project and had a cookie. Then I sat on the floor and read as many books as they brought to me. Another little girl who was three started bringing me books to read as well. Her mom had been on her cell phone the whole time and not paying much attention to her. Finally she walked up to me and said, "I'm sorry, she never wants me to read to her." Ok. After she paced back and forth for a while she asked me if it would be ok if she went to get a drink of water. Sure, no problem. She was gone forever. I thought, maybe she had to go to the bathroom too. Then I thought maybe she left??? Eventually she came back with Starbucks in hand. Wow, she had a little mommy time to herself. Fun. Maybe I'll try that one day. NOT!

Anyway, here's a little glimpse of our outing.

After story time we went to the mall to ride the carousel. Again. That has become our go to activity. But they love it so it works.

wow... life...

That's it. Life has been crazy lately. In some aspects, literally crazy. I have felt a bit down and when I feel down I really have nothing much to say. Other than getting my girls a birthday post up, I haven't had much else to do with this space. It's been a tough month. We are still in limbo as far as moving. My sweet husband travels back and forth every week for his job. We've only shown our house 4 times. We are just about completely out of money. I don't even like answering the phone anymore. Bill collectors are not nice people. So, that's enough about that.

On a brighter note... Sophie did wonderful in her first volleyball season. Her team won third place in our county tournament. Awesome. She kept all A's as well while practicing every single stinkin' day until 5:30 pm. She is such a sweet, well rounded girl. I love her.

GG is just being as busy and funny and high maintenance as a three year old can be. Thanks to Grandma and Grampy Whiting, she is attending Mother's Day Out three times a week. She LOVES it. And I admit, I love it too. She loves being with her friends. She's a very social little girl. And still a princess. Although right now, she loves Olivia. The tv show and the books. So last night she told me that she was Olivia and I could be the momma pig. Ok, thanks! Because most days I feel like that anyway :).

Shep is just a snuggly, busy, temper tantrum throwing, car obsessed, ball throwing, talking little one year old. He can tell you what a snake, cow, tiger, dog, cat, sheep and frog all sound like. He loves to tell you how a train goes. He says " I get it" and "What's that?" and "Where'd it go?" in his sweet little voice. He loves to dance and he sings the Barney " I love you " song complete with sweet little kisses. Still very much a Daddy's boy and I love that. There is nothing like seeing my two favorite guys spending time together.

So those three people are what keep me going. They do. I look at them and know it's all going to be ok. We'll get through this season.

And today is Thursday. That means my man will be home tonight. I'm telling you one thing, absence makes the heart grow fonder. For sure. I can't wait.

Look at me, me ,me! I'm three ,three ,three!

Today, our little Geneva Grey turns three years old. Three years ago at 3:21 pm she made her appearance into this world. And she made us a family of four.

I think three will be good to her. She's glad to be getting bigger now. She wants to do ballet. She is a princess most days but she likes to be a mermaid too. She is a girly girl through and through. We let her open presents yesterday and she was so excited. She said " Oh my!" and "I can't believe this!" She is independent and spirited and sweet and has a flair for drama. She's everything a three year old should be.
And she's ours. That's my favorite part.

To our sweet G-nut peanut,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
We love you so much. We hope your third year is a MAGICAL one!
Love,
Mommy, Daddy, Sophie and Shep
